Academic Curriculum

My area of reasearch is Dynamical systems and Computational Neuroscience. I obtained my PhD in Applied Mathematics from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Barcelona) in October 2008 with the thesis The role of hyperbolic invariant objects: From Arnold diffusion to biological clocks under the supervision of Prof. Amadeu Delshams and Prof. Antoni Guillamon.

During my PhD. studies I visited the Mathematical Bioscience Institute at Ohio State University under the supervision of Prof. David Terman (Fall 2005) and the Department of Mathematics at University of Texas at Austin under the supervision of Prof. Rafael de la Llave (Fall 2006 and Fall 2007).

During Spring 2008 I was at the Department of Mathematics at University of Texas at Austin as a RESA (Research Engineering Student Assistant) sponsored by NSF Fellowship under the supervision of Prof. Rafael de la Llave

After my PhD I was a postdoctoral fellow at CRM invited by the Research Programmes: "Stability and Instability in Mechanical Systems (SIMS08)" (September to December 2008) and "Mathematical Biology: Modelling and Differential Equations" ( January to June 2009).

In September 2009 I joined John Rinzel's lab at the Center for Neural Science with a scholarship from the i-math project. From September 2011 until December 2012 I was a Courant Instructor partially funded by the Swartz Foundation .

Since 2013 I have held positions at Departament de Matemàtiques at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, first as a Juan de la Cierva research fellow (2013-2015), later as a Ramon y Cajal research fellow (2015-2021) and since 2021 as associate professor. Since 2021 I am deputy director of IMTech .
